As of 2005, one hundred billion Bic pens have been sold all over the world. It represents enough ink to draw a line from here to Pluto and come back… more than 20 times.

This is a rough estimate, considering that the distance between Earth and Pluto is not constant but is at least 4.28 billion km (which is only 2.14 billion pens at the rate of 2 km per pen).
Please note that the original Bic (Bic Cristal) is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Arts in New York City as a symbol of industrial design.
