Peyo invented the word “schtroumpf” (later translated as “smurf” in English) meaning “salt”, as he was asking Franquin to pass it.

Details:

He couldn't remember the word “salt”, so he just invented what he could at that moment, and Franquin actually understood. They spent the following days using this word as much as they could.
