Titles on the spines of books are oriented differently whether the print is French or English.
When books are lined up vertically on a shelf, you have to lean your head to the right to read the title of English books and to the left for French books.
This way, it is possible to read booktitles normally from left to right when English books are piled up with the front cover up, while French books will show their title upside down.
